The Addison Engineering Buxton Hitmen got back to winning ways on Sunday with a fantastic 54-35 win against the Mildenhall Fen Tigers.

Team Manager Jack Lee said “It was quite unexpected that today especially after last week’s disappointment against Dudley, the lads have really got themselves together and everyone has rode hard and well today. To get this kind of result against Mildenhall, well we didn’t expect that kind of result at all, so it just shows once our boys get themselves together, stop falling off and stop throwing silly points away that we’re a team to be reckoned with. We’ve still got a chance to get into the playoffs so we’ve just got to keep at it now and hopefully we can get enough points to qualify to get into that top four. I’m over the moon today with the boys every one of them rode really well. It makes a nice difference, we’ve been struggling with six riders all year but now we’ve got Lee Smart, we’ve got a full team, seven riders and it makes a big difference. To have a full team when you go somewhere gives you confidence as you know that everybody’s going to be having a go and not having to take extra rides all the time.”

Sunday is another tough meeting with The Isle Of Wight in town but Mr Lee says the team can pull it off “If the ads can do what they did today, all get together and everyone scoring points, a victory could be on the cards, but you can never take anything for granted, the Isle of Wight have been here and beat us before so we’ve got to be on our metal and just hope we can beat them and keep marching onto the playoffs.”
