SHELBY BACK HOME

SHELBY Rutherford is on the mend after having screws and rods inserted into a back injury that he sustained in a crash at Stoke on Friday night.

The Buxton racer broke his back in the crash and underwent surgery on Sunday morning at the Royal Stoke Hospital. Shelby wrote on his facebook page that the operation went well and that surgeons were happy with the operation. On the downside though Rutherford has been told not to race for 6 months.

On Monday the Hitman managed to sit up in a chair and managed to walk around with the Physiotherapists and walk up and down stairs un-aided and was allowed to leave hospital on Tuesday and return home.
